Master Sustainable Energy Systems

Advanced Seminar

Module Objective

In this seminar, students acquire fundamental skills in academic research and learn how to work effectively with scientific literature. These competencies are taught theoretically and applied practically.

Structure

The module consists of two parts:

  1. Lecture: In the first phase, students are introduced to key methods of academic writing, presenting, and researching.
  2. Practical Phase: Each student is assigned a scientific journal article to analyze independently. The findings are summarized in a scientific poster and presented during a central seminar session.

Module Completion

The final grade is based on the poster and its presentation. In addition, students must actively attend at least five scientific presentations by other students (e.g., thesis defenses).

  • Attendance must be documented using a tracking sheet, which records each attended presentation. After each event, the tracking sheet must be signed and stamped by a representative of the department.
  • Overview of current thesis presentations can be found on the faculty homepage.
