Since the 2011/2012 winter semester, TU Dortmund University has been offering the Germany Scholarship as a funding opportunity for students. Under this program, high-achieving and talented students receive support from private donors and companies.

At the annual scholarship ceremony held by TU Dortmund University, donors have the opportunity to meet and talk to the more than 200 students who receive funding.

The Germany Scholarship program focuses on outstanding academic achievement, but also takes into account social engagement, willingness to take on responsibility, and special social, family, or personal circumstances when selecting scholarship recipients. The Germany Scholarship program provides funding for at least two semesters, during which students receive €300 per month – €150 from the federal government and €150 from private sponsors, foundations, or companies.

Starting in the 2024/2025 winter semester, a total of 23 students from all degree programs in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology will receive funding for one year. A big thank you goes to this year's sponsors of the Germany Scholarships: Elmos Foundation, RAG Foundation, Bernd Jochheim Foundation, Informatik Centrum Dortmund e.V., MAGSYS magnet systeme GmbH, Wilo Foundation, BASF Services Europe GmbH, Polchau Foundation, Infineon Technologies AG, KARL-KOLLE Foundation, Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland, Thyssengas GmbH, Prof. Dr. Bernd Aschendorf.
