Information on starting your studies
University admission is required. Admission to the Bachelor's degree course in Information and Communication Technology is not restricted in the winter semester. Information on enrollment can be found on the TU Dortmund University website "Application and enrollment".
The courses in the first semester include Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Introduction to Computer Science and Lecture in Advanced Mathematics I.
The departments of Mathematics and Computer Science offer preliminary courses to prepare students for the start of their studies.
Pre-course in mathematics:
The Department of Mathematics prepares new students for their studies with the preliminary course in mathematics. The preliminary courses are aimed at first-year students of all mathematics-related subjects, especially engineering and mathematics and natural sciences. Their aim is to repeat and expand the school material in order to offer all students the same prerequisites for starting their studies. Mathematical techniques and structures that will later become part of the daily tools of the trade are also developed. However, the preliminary courses are not intended to anticipate the content of the basic lectures, but rather to provide an insight into the future course of study in addition to consolidating the school material.
