Recognition procedure

Below you will find information on the procedure for recognition of the industrial internship for the ETIT and SES degree programs. For the recognition procedure for Industrial Engineering students, please refer to the Internship Office of the Department of Mechanical Engineering:
http://www.mb.tu-dortmund.de/cms/de/Studium/Praktikumsamt/index.html

  • The internship documents (application for recognition, internship certificate, daily and weekly reports) must be submitted to the Internship Office no later than 6 months after completion of the internship. The documents must be submitted by e-mail.
  • On the basis of the documents submitted, the Internship Office will check whether and to what extent the practical activity can be recognized as practical vocational training within the meaning of the Internship Directive. The processing time of the Internship Office is usually approx. 2 weeks for complete documents. As there is usually a large increase in the number of internship reports submitted at the beginning of each semester, the processing time can sometimes be significantly longer in the months of April and October. Please understand this.
  • Students will be notified by e-mail as soon as the documents have been processed. If there are any deficiencies, students will be asked to rectify them and a new examination will be carried out. In the event of recognition, students will receive a certificate by e-mail stating the type and scope of the recognition.
  • The Internship Office will automatically notify the Examination Office of the successful completion of the industrial internship.
