Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology represents a broad spectrum of important areas of technology in industrial society. These include, for example, information technology, robotics, micro- and nanoelectronics, modern energy systems, automotive electronics and communication networks.
The teaching and research areas of the department thus form a network of disciplines that ensures a high level of qualification in education and a wide range of research. 15 professors and more than 140 academic staff who are active in teaching and research ensure that our students receive dedicated support. You can also recognize the efficient supervision and training by the fact that we have the shortest average duration of study (median) among the electrical engineering and information technology departments in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Our graduates are employed as specialists and managers, for example in the manufacturing industry, in service companies (e.g. for consulting or software tasks), in research institutes or in educational institutions.
We are proud to know that many institutions have graduates from our department who have made careers in leading positions.
