• General Information
  Interested applicants (You) are recommended to carefully read and understand the information given below before starting the application process.
  • Please don’t send hard copies of any kind. Originals or notarized copies shall be required during the student’s visa processes and at the time of their university enrollment steps.
    • During application phase, all requested documents must be scanned (with good and proper quality) and uploaded as PDF to appropriate application platform.
  • There’s no way to “update” the application once submitted. Hence, the submitted application will be processed as is and decision will be made.
  • There is no “first-come-first-serve” policy! Submit your application and wait for a decision. Queries regarding status of application will not be entertained.
    • If you are an applicant presently studying in final year of your undergraduate program, then you should send all your grades and marksheets as collected so far. In this case, we also need a statement of tentative completion date which MUST carry the full title of the degree you are aspiring to reach.

• For International Applicants:
  A prospective applicant with an international undergraduate degree and are NOT citizens of an EU country are considered as international applicants and should follow the procedure given in this section.

  • Information about the application period is available in Application Information for non-EU/EEA Nationals
  • There is no “first-come-first-serve” policy! Submit your application and wait for a decision. Queries regarding status of application will not be entertained.
  • Since 2023, it is mandatory for applicants from countries such as China, India and Vietnam to provide an Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) certificate. Such applications without APS certificate will not be processed.
  • Application Period - Summer Semester 2027 onwards:
    • The admission requirements are as follows:
      • Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is mandatory and below minimum scores are required:
        • Verbal Reasoning: 150 points
        • Quantitative Reasoning: 160 points
        • Analytical Writing: 3.0 points
        • Please note that the validity of GRE score should not exceed one year at the time of application submission.
      • English Language Proficiency of C1 level (as per European Reference Framework) is required and should be demonstrated through one of the following:
        • Internationally recognised language certificates (eg., TOEFL, IELTS, CAE); A sample reference of level is provided here
        • Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score, specifically minimum of 150 points in Verbal Reasoning and 3.0 points in Analytical Writing
        • Only for applicants with English as mother tongue:
          • High school diploma from Australia, Canada(excluding the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick), the USA or the United Kingdom (e.g., British A-Levels, the Irish Leaving Certificate, the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement, the Scottish Qualifications Certificate, or a high school diploma) or
          • a university degree from Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada (excluding degrees from the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick), New Zealand, or the USA
• For National Applicants:
  A prospective applicant with a undergraduate degree from German academia are considered as national applicants and should follow the procedure given in this section.

• REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
  The information given below is applicable to all applicants.
  • If any of the mentioned certificate is not in German or English language, then appropriate official transcript in German or English language, furnished by an official translator needs to be submitted
  • Your academic degree:
    • Your undergraduate degree certificate: (undergraduate of Science/Engineering/Technology or Sarjana I, Mühendis, Lisans, Diplôme d’Ingénieur d’Etat etc.)
    • Your mark sheets of all terms and other records of your academic education in undergraduate studies. These mark sheets must include the grades as well as the credit points collected. Each topic should be clearly identified. This includes notarised copies of the original and an official transcript in German or English language, furnished by an official translator if the certificate originals are neither in English nor German.
    • The following minimum credit points are required in your undergraduate studies:
      • 10 credit points in computer systems/programming
      • 18 credit points in academic mathematics
      • 75 credit points in electrical engineering subjects, specifically in power systems, which may include a variety of subjects. Please refer to the ETIT faculty website on the range of subjects included under electrical engineering/information technology as a rough reference
    • Applicants from China, Vietnam and India will need an APS certificate as a mandatory prerequisite.

1. Can you tell if I am eligible for the master SES program > [before I apply officially] ? or Can you look at my documents and tell me if i am eligible for the master SES program ?
   To check and to determine whether you are eligible for the master SES program, refer the program requirements provided in this webpage and compare it with your own documents. We will only process applications submitted officially via appropriate platforms.
2. Can I get a late arrival letter ?
   Late arrival letter can only be provided on a case by case basis and that too only if the respective German embassy or consulate specifically asks for it. In such case, we need you to show us the proof of request of late arrival letter from the respective German embassy or consulate.
   We will not issue late arrival letter just because you want to have it. Any request for late arrival letter without proof of requirement will not be entertained or replied via email.
3. My undergraduate studies was completely in English. I can provide a certificate from my home university that the course is comparable to C1-English level. Can I be exempted from the English certificate?
   No. The Medium of Instruction Certificate will not be accepted as proof of language proficiency. In case you you satisfy all other admission requirements, but lack sufficient language proficiency, then you could be given a conditional acceptance with pending language proficiency. In such case, you will have the chance to submit your C1 level English certificate during enrolment phase.
4. I have an existing master degree from German University but with high school or undergraduate degree from outside Germany. Am I still eligible to get admission to the course ?
   Irrespective of your present academic/professional situation, we process application for the master SES program based on your undergraduate degree.
5. I only partially satisfy the criteria. Can I still be given a conditional acceptance?
   The evaluation and examinatin board shall determine on a case by case basis whether a conditional acceptance is possible.
6. I submitted my application in the application platform. I wrote you email to get application status update and i did not receive any reply ?
   We process the applications and convey our decision as early as possible in the appropriate application platforms. It is not possible to provide you any status updates via email.
7. I am from X or Y country. Do I need to submit APS certificate ? or I have applied for APS certificate, but I have not yet received it. Can I still apply for the course without APS certificate ?
   If you are an applicant belonging to a country listed as required to submit APS certificate, then you should submit your applicaiton along with the APS certificate. It is not possible for us to process such applications without APS certificate.

Validity of admission

Beginning in October 2024, an admission which has been sent will stay valid for three terms. The first of those always is the winter term in which you have applied. The admission will stay valid for the next summer (enrollment up to^15th of May) and the subsequent winter term still.

Enrollment

Enrollment will be handled by our international office entirely! Please follow the guidelines which you have received in conjunction with your admission, once you have received it.

Enrollment will be possible up to the last Friday before the semester starts each semester.

All documents used in the application process must be presented as originals and will be checked during the enrolment procedure.
