Advanced seminar
Aim of the module
In the advanced seminar, students acquire basic knowledge of scientific work and the confident handling of scientific literature. The content is taught both theoretically and applied practically.
Procedure
The module consists of two parts:
- Lecture: In the first phase, central methods of scientific work, presentation and research are introduced.
- Application phase: All students are then given a scientific journal article which they work on independently. The results are summarized in a scientific poster and presented at a central event.
The module is taught in German in the winter semester. It is taught in English in the summer semester.
Module completion
Assessment is based on the poster and the presentation. In addition, students must attend at least five scientific presentations by other students (e.g. final theses).
- A routing slip is kept to document these visits, on which each lecture is noted. After attending a lecture, the routing slip is signed and stamped by a representative of the chair.
- An overview of the current final lectures can be found on the department's homepage.
