Three Awards for the Department's 6G Research

At the prestigious IEEE INFOCOM 2026 in Tokyo, the paper “O-RACES” on AI-assisted radio resource planning for the real-time control of networked humanoid robots was honored with a Best Paper Award from the Networked Robots Workshop.
At the European 6G Summit 2026 in Málaga, the interactive “Smart Factory RAN Planner” for planning industrial mobile networks received the Best University Demo Award. The demo presentation was supported on-site by master’s students from the department.
Another Best Paper Award followed at the IEEE MNC 2026 in Naples. The award-winning paper examines the FR3 frequency spectrum between 7 and 24 gigahertz as a potential middle ground between high network coverage and high data rates for future 6G systems.
These achievements underscore the international visibility of Dortmund’s BMFTR-funded research on intelligent, high-performance, and sustainable next-generation communication networks.
