Shaping the future with one of the

Degree programs of our department

Because technology determines our future, we must determine technology. Knowledge must become more human and people must become more knowledgeable. Engineers in electrical engineering and information technology make an important contribution to improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, solving global problems, improving environmental protection and creating new jobs through new technologies in numerous specialist areas.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Dortmund University represents a broad spectrum of important areas of technology in industrial society. These include, for example, information technology, robotics, micro- and nanoelectronics, modern energy systems, automotive electronics and communication networks.
The teaching and research areas of the department thus form a network of disciplines that ensures a high level of qualification in education and a wide range of research.

At our department you can expect very good teaching, laboratories with modern equipment and application-oriented research. Dedicated support for our students is ensured by 15 professors and over 100 academic staff who are active in teaching and research. You can also recognize the efficient supervision and training by the fact that we have the shortest average duration of study among the electrical engineering and information technology departments in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
